Would you consider them just be screenshots of a game or actually art.  I can understand if someone actually makes there own models and has them actually put in the game.  But it seems like a lot of people just cobbler characters together and let the engine pose them while taking screenshots. Though I do like when they make comics using the screenshots and add text too :meow:

'tis a hard question, actually. If the picture is an additional thing - say, when it is used alongside a short story - then the picture itself is not art, but rather the story.
If the picture itself is the only thing, then I'd say it could be considered art, but with a hard limit. In that case, SL can be viewed as a (inferior?) 3D-Model program, and 3D-Models are considered art.
It's tricky to answer, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. On a side note though, having a comic created via SL and adding a short story to it is what actually made me crawl out of lurker status, so I definitely can't hate that method. x)
